32 Library Systems Now Live on Evergreen Indiana

32 library systems are now live on Evergreen Indiana, a shared-catalog project of the Indiana State Library based on Evergreen, the consortial-quality, open-source library automation software. The new additions are Waterloo Grant Township, Pike County, Alexandria-Monroe, and Kendalville & Limberlost Public Libraries.
Equinox Software, Inc., the support and development company established by the original Evergreen developers, provided bumper-to-bumper support for the migrations and is now providing round-the-clock ongoing technical support.
"For us, there was no doubt that Evergreen Indiana would be a win-win for the library's budget and for our patrons," says Library Director Montie Manning. "We have already realized a significant savings on everything from library cards, to barcodes, on up to database subscription costs."
"Evergreen Indiana now collectively represents over one million bibliographic records and almost 200,000 patrons, and continues to grow," said Brad LaJeunesse, Equinox company president. The Waterloo-Grant Township library is a single branch library located in Waterloo Indiana. The Pike County Public Library has three branches located in Petersburg, Winslow, and Otwell. The Alexandria-Monroe Public Library is a single branch library located in Alexandria and has served the community for over 100 years. Kendalville & Limberlost Public Library has branches in Kendalville and Rome City.
